Opting-in for Email Marketing
Thinking about launching an online promotion? Email marketing may be just the tool your looking for to circulate the campaign and generate awareness. When done correctly, email marketing campaigns that focus on a promotional element can be tremendously successful.
However, if including an email marketing component in an online promotional campaign, it is best to let people opt-in voluntarily. There are several questions you will want to ask if your promotion includes an e-marketing/email component:
- Is there an email sign-up on the homepage?
- Are there email sign-ups on the internal pages?
- Does the Web site use other means for capturing emails?
- Does the sign-up require contact information?
- Do subscribers receive a confirmation that their email has been successfully submitted?
- Are there referral components (forward to a friend, etc)?
